How to install the Passiv Smart Thermostat with a Samsung heat pump

To install the Passiv Smart Thermostat with Samsung heat pumps, for either 1 or 2 zones with wired or wireless Thermostats, follow the steps below. 

1. Check compatibility
   View all compatible Samsung heat pumps at Samsung supported heat pumps.
2. Follow the Installation Guide
   This is included in the box, or you can download a digital version of the Passiv Smart Thermostat Installation Guide.
3. Connect the RS485 Modbus wiring
   All necessary RS485 Modbus connections can be found in Samsung RS485 connections. Note that the Passiv Smart Thermostat requires the MIM-B19N Modbus adaptor to communicate with the heat pump.
4. Check the heat pump settings
   Make sure that all switches and dials on the MIM-B19N are set correctly as listed in Samsung RS485 connections (MIM-B19N). Make sure that all field settings on the Samsung indoor controller are set to the values listed in Samsung heat pump settings.
5. Commission the Passiv Smart Thermostat
   Follow the instructions on the Programmer to commission the Passiv Smart Thermostat. You can find a video guide on commissioning on our YouTube channel.
