Hot water cylinder temperature probe placement
All Passiv Smart Thermostat installations controlling hot water require a cylinder temperature sensor to be correctly installed.
Ideally, the middle most temperature pocket is used and the temperature probe is mechanically fixed in place to avoid accidental snagging or extraction.

Additional checks:
- Confirm the selected pocket is higher or at least the same level as the immersion element location. This is necessary to recognise the immersion element's contribution when performing an anti-legionella cycle.
- The temperature sensor is fully inserted in the pocket and has good thermal contact with the pocket wall. If a pocket bung is available this should be used to enclose the pocket and reduce the risk of accidental extraction if the probe cable is snagged.
- If a smaller bore pocket fits the temperature probe and is approximately in the middle of the cylinder, then the smaller pocket should be used. The smaller pocket typically represents the hot water temperature more accurately.
